Join the Calgary Chamber of Commerce on February 6 for a conversation with the Honourable Joseph Schow, Alberta’s Minister of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration.

Minister Schow will share insights on the Alberta government’s economic and workforce priorities, address labour market pressures and position Alberta as a competitive destination for talent and innovation. The discussion will explore how provincial policies are supporting job creation, business growth and long term economic resilience across key sectors.

Following Minister Schow’s remarks, Calgary Chamber President & CEO Deborah Yedlin will host a fireside chat

About speaker

Honourable Joseph Schow was sworn in as the Minister of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration on May 16, 2025 and continues to serve as Government Houser Leader. He previously served as the Minister of Tourism and Sport.

Prior to his service as an elected official, Hon. Schow worked as a legislative coordinator with the Legislative Assembly of Alberta and as a parliamentary assistant with the House of Commons of Canada. He was self-employed for several years prior to this experience. 

Hon. Schow holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian from Dalhousie University and a master’s degree from George Washington University. 

  Hon. Schow speaks conversational Russian. He and his wife, Nicole, have 3 children. 

  Honourable Joseph Schow was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Cardston-Siksika on April 16, 2019 and was re-elected on May 29, 2023.
