About

We look forward to welcoming our Members to the 133rd Annual General Meeting of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce. The AGM will take place in-person and will feature a financial update, remarks from the Board Chair, and a business overview from the Calgary Chamber’s President and CEO.

All Members in good standing are welcome to join us in reflection of the past year and for a forward-looking conversation on how the Chamber will continue to position itself as the source of connection, growth, and success for Calgary’s business.

We are pleased to welcome Lara Murphy, CEO of Ryan Murphy Construction and the first CEO of the Calgary Wild Women’s Football Club, as a featured speaker at this year’s Annual General Meeting. A dynamic leader and dedicated community advocate, Lara has built a career rooted in resilience, entrepreneurship and inclusivity. From launching successful businesses to mentoring youth and championing diverse voices in construction and beyond, Lara brings a wealth of experience and insight to the stage. Don’t miss the chance to hear her inspiring story and some of the lessons she’s learned along the way.

About speaker

Lara Murphy creates spaces where people can thrive. As CEO of the Calgary Wild FC, Alberta’s first pro women’s soccer team, she’s honored to lead a group that represents the future of women’s professional sports in Canada, and passionate about advancing opportunities for women and girls in sport. Today, she’s focused on fostering excellence on the field, building community connections, and creating a legacy for women in soccer.

As founder of Calgary’s only women-owned construction company in Calgary, Ryan Murphy Construction, her focus has always been on championing belonging and innovation in the construction industry. Through an inclusive workplace and focus on accessibility, they’re breaking barriers for women in construction and redefining what it means to build with purpose.

Committed to a thriving community as well, Lara sits on boards of impactful organizations, including SAIT and the Calgary Airport Authority. She previously was on the boards of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce and YW Calgary, where her contribution led to the building of the YW Hub facility and Affordable Housing initiatives for women and families, for which she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022.
