About

Meaningful change in the workplace begins with understanding.

Join us on May 25 for Mental Health Monday: Neurodiversity in the Workplace, featuring Laura McNeil from the Calgary Counselling Centre. In this thoughtful session, we’ll explore how we can better understand neurodiversity and reduce stigma in the workplace. We’ll also discuss how to create environments where individuals are respected, accommodated and able to contribute in ways that reflect their strengths.

You’ll leave with practical insights and a deeper awareness of how to build more inclusive and supportive teams.

About Mental Health Mondays

Join us for Mental Health Mondays, a monthly event series dedicated to fostering open, supportive conversations about mental well-being in our community.

In partnership with our Mental Health Pillar Partner, Cenovus, these sessions go beyond the workplace covering a wide range of topics that impact both our professional and personal lives. Each month, a thought leader from one of Calgary’s leading mental health organizations will guide the conversation, share resources and be available to answer your questions.

This series is also about building a sense of community—whether you’re personally navigating mental health challenges, supporting someone who is, or simply wanting to learn more. Whether you’re a business leader, team member or community partner, you’ll gain valuable tools, insights and connections to strengthen well-being for yourself and those around you.

Together, let’s build a healthier, more resilient Calgary, because we’re always better together.

About speaker

Laura McNeil, MSW, RSW is a counsellor at the Calgary Counselling Centre. Prior to entering clinical practice, she spent over 10 years working in the disability sector in Lethbridge, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. During this time, she worked extensively alongside individuals with autism and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), with a focus on fostering independence and advocating within systems to improve access to supports. Laura brings both frontline disability experience and a mental health perspective to discussions of neurodiversity, including how neurodivergent individuals navigate workplaces and broader systems.
