A free community gathering exploring men’s mental health through lived experiences across generations, connection and conversation.
About The Event:
Presented by Shed Talk with Kevin Halliday, in partnership with the University of Calgary’s Mathison Centre for Mental Health Research & Education, the Mental Health Initiative for Stress and Trauma (MIST), and the Calgary Chamber of Commerce.
The Movement Launch brings together lived experience, mental-health research, business and community perspectives for an evening of honest stories, shared perspectives and meaningful connections around men’s mental health.
Four speakers will share a short lived-experience reflecting a different stage of life:
Age 18–29 | Becoming
Finding identity, belonging, relationships and direction.
Age 30–45 | Building
Navigating career, family, finances and growing responsibility.
Age 46–55 | Questioning
Facing changes in health, relationships, family, career and identity.
Age 55+ | Redefining
Exploring purpose, retirement, change and what comes next.
Together, the stories will explore how the pressures men face can change over time — and the experiences that often connect generations.
Who should attend?
Everyone 18+ is welcome.
The event is for men across generations, as well as family members, friends, colleagues, business leaders, researchers, health professionals and community members interested in better understanding and supporting men’s mental health.
Whether you are coming to hear another perspective, support someone in your life, connect with people outside your usual circles or learn about available resources, you are invited to be part of the conversation.
